Story
My journey began when I started working part-time since I was 16 upon graduating secondary school and eventually continued to work 2 part time jobs throughout my time in Polytechnic. Juggling work and studies early on taught me the importance of being prudent with regards to spending, and the importance of managing my finances.
When the Covid-19 Pandemic struck, it served as a huge wake-up call for me. It highlighted the importance of financial planning and being prepared for any of life’s uncertainties. Thus, during National Service, I read up and studied as much about investing as I could in my free time.
I used those opportunities to deepen my understanding of investing and personal finance further. Having started my investment journey after the pandemic struck taught me a wealth of knowledge and experience. When I took studying about investments more seriously, I began making notes and documenting what I’ve learnt monthly as entries into my personal investment journal.
Eventually, I decided to start a blog at the start of 2022 to share what I’ve documented online, so that my friends may also benefit from the lessons and experiences I’ve learnt along the way and add value to those around me.
That was how I got to meet my current mentor, Yu Chuan, who stumbled upon my blog through Instagram and opened me up to the world of financial advisory, to potentially turn my passion of imparting knowledge and helping others into a career.
Although I was initially intimidated by the industry, I embraced the opportunity to challenge myself to step outside my comfort zone and took the leap of faith.
My name is Ryan, and my personal goals are to continuously improve, bring value to my clients, and forge as many meaningful relationships as I can along the way!
