Story

Throughout my early life, my family was marked by financial constraints, as my parents did not have much. My dad left the family when I was around 12 years old, and my mum singlehandedly raised my younger brother and I.

My life experienced fluctuations because I hated the circumstances my family found itself in. I used to blame the situation and always asked myself “why can’t my family be the same as others?”

But having this chip on the shoulder made me a very driven individual.

At age 18, I started my first small label selling handcrafted leather goods. At 23, I started another side hustle trading luxury watches, which had required me to be extremely resourceful in securing funds and identifying products that not only yielded profits for me but also aligned with the interests of my investors.

Fast forward to age 25, I decided to join an education company, as I was keen to learn more about managing businesses. Together with a few other key members, we grew the company from a headcount of 25 to 50. In 5 years, I climbed my way from an intern to a Deputy Chief Executive leading a direct team of 14.

As Deputy Chief Executive, a significant aspect of my role involved studying and learning from other successful and transformational businesses. I had the privilege of learning from incredibly smart and hardworking individuals. I was inspired to ponder over how I could become the best version of myself, and it soon became evident that my personal development would have reached its limits if I had stayed on.

I then decided to give up my 6-figure income job, take a leap of faith and make a career switch to become a Financial Services Consultant, entering an entirely unfamiliar industry where my potential for success was largely unknown and had little connection to my prior working experiences.

To my surprise, I completely fell in love with the profession and developed a profound conviction in what I do. The products we sell have the power to transform lives, and can shield our clients from potential disasters that could adversely impact the lives of those around them. Also, being able to engage with and service so many wonderful individuals has been truly rewarding. It is something I hold close to heart, and I wish to continue doing this for a long time.

Today, I make it my mission to help others unlock the potential in transforming their own lives. Together, let’s take the first step of this long journey.
