Story

All my life, my life was not one of abundance. I lived a modest life, and my parents did not have much. My dad left the family when I was around 12/13 years old and my mum singlehandedly brought up my brother and I.

There were ups and downs in my life because I hated the situation that my family was in. I used to blame the situation and always asked myself “why can’t my family be the same as others?”

But having this chip on the shoulder made me a very driven individual.

At 18 I started my first informal company selling handmade leather goods. At age 23 I started another side hustle selling luxury watches. To achieve this, I had to be extremely resourceful in sourcing for funds and being able to source for products that could make the margins not only to me but make sense to my investors as well.

Fast forward to age 25, I started working for an education company which I, together with key players, grew from 25 people to about 50 people in 5 years. I climbed from an Intern all the way to Deputy Chief Executive leading a direct team of 14.

Part of my work as a Deputy Chief Executive is to find out how other businesses transformed and grew themselves and in those 2 years, I had the privilege to learn from incredibly smart and hard-working people to realise that my personal growth in doing what I was doing was no longer enough and perhaps I was not suited to be in an industry like this.

At this point I decided to make the career switch to being a Financial Services Consultant, giving up a 6-figure income job to take on an industry where my success was relatively unknown and almost completely unrelated to my previous experience.

However, what I didn’t realise is the amount of growth the industry would inevitably bring me. As I interacted with more people and acquired them as clients, I completely fell in love with the process, and became even more convicted in what I am doing.

Being able to connect with people, serve them and continuing to do so for a long time excites me and it is something I hold close to heart. The products we sell changes lives, and it protects them from potential calamity that would affect not only them, but everyone around them.

Now, I make it my mission to help others understand on how to transform their lives just as how this industry has helped to transform mine. Let’s take the first step in this long journey, together.
