Story
I never wanted to be a financial planner.
My parents never believed in nor understood the importance of insurance. They aren’t well- educated and have no financial knowledge nor literacy. When I was much younger, my family was pretty well to-do as my dad ran his own business, however it failed, and he had to file for bankruptcy. Growing up, I had no inkling of what insurance was about or the importance of financial planning. My parents have extremely bad financial habits (even till today) and they were riddled with debt — from owing my relatives money to credit card companies. We were practically living hand-to-mouth. It was only when I started my first full time job and earning a stable income, did I realise we were in a very dire situation. We were into arrears on bill payments, my mum has a huge credit card debt, and both my parents have no savings nor retirement fund to tide them through their golden years (and they are already in their mid/late 60s). To top it all off, they didn’t have insurance, not even the basic hospitalisation plan. That’s when it dawned on me that the financial burden would be placed on me and my sister. It was tough knowing that because now, I’d have to factor in planning for them on top of my own future (housing, wedding, kids, retirement). It’s like raising a kid but a very expensive one.
Being in this industry for more than a year, I gained a better understanding and deeper appreciation of what financial planning is all about. I always tell myself that if only my parents had met with an advisor when they were younger, who could have imparted some knowledge and helped them with financial planning, then we wouldn’t be in this predicament today. My dad lamented before that if he or my mum knew how to manage their finances, they would be in a much better financial position. They could stop working and take it slow instead of still having to slog just to get by.
With that in mind, I’m determined not to let the cycle repeat itself and my aim is to help others plan for their future so that no one would ever find themselves or their loved ones in my position.
My name is Ché, and I’m here to guide you through life’s adventures.

”I’ve known and trained with Ché for over 5 years- we play touch together. Ché gives 100% on and off the field, so when she decided to embark on a career in financial consultancy, I knew immediately that she would be the best person to manage my financial portfolio. Ché‘s work ethic, patience and perseverance makes her perfect for this job! During our sessions, Ché was very clear with her explanation and presentation of information. She was very attentive to my ever-changing financial needs and without hesitation made a few revisions to find the best policy for me.

”I have known Ché for close to 9 years now and I consider her to be one of my closest friends. When I knew she was going to be a Financial Consultant, I wanted to give her the best support I can provide. When she approached me, I said yes immediately as I trusted her to provide me the best financial advice (or service).

I told Ché exactly what I wanted, and she proposed the most suitable plan for me and explained
every detail to me very clearly. She is very detail-orientated, and she would listen attentively to your needs. She would also go out of her way to make sure that every appointment is comfortable for me. What I like most is that she provided me a full summary of all the existing plans that I had. The summary provided me with a full insight of what I already have/am lacking, which is very useful for me.
During our sessions, she made me feel very comfortable and safe in letting her know my financial concerns. She was also very detailed in her explanations and made sure that I understood everything. As a friend and a client, I trust her fully in providing the most beneficial financial plan for me.

”I’ve known Ché for quite a while now and when she approached me about financial planning, I was open to it but was not about to make any real changes to my plans for the coming years. At the first meeting she took the time to get a sense of where I am at in terms of finances and how willing I was to commit more moving forward. I was apprehensive at first, but I would say Ché is very respectful of my opinions and understanding of my circumstances. She was open to working around my budget which I am very glad about. At the second meet-up, she helped to explain how her proposals would work within my budget and this really put my mind at ease because I was expecting to sacrifice more. However, it turned out fine and everything was quite smooth. She provided me with a different perspective on how I can manage and plan better for the future.
